The Barrhaven Lions Club, in cooperation with the Barrhaven Business Improvement Area (BBIA) is planning the Annual Lions Santa Claus Parade — "LIGHT UP THE NIGHT" Parade.
The main thrust of our Parade has always been to provide an exciting and fun-filled event for the children of our community and we also collect food and cash donations for the needy. This continues to fulfill the Lions' motto, WE SERVE. All donations are shared between the Family Services Association of Churches (FAMSAC) and the Barrhaven Food Cupboard (BFC).
We want to continuously improve and expand community participation in our parade so as to include groups and organizations that have not been previously involved.

Best Parade Entry: 25%
Proper Signage: 25%
Colourful Costumes: 25%
Crowd Appreciation: 25%
School Bursary Award
We are pleased to invite both the elementary and secondary schools in Barrhaven to participate in this year's parade. Each entrant's attire, float & music must relate to the Christmas Season.
Following the event prizes for best entries will be awarded & announced in the local media. Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, there will be two $1,000.00 bursaries this year for the schools best entry.
We look forward to your school's participation and competition for the "Working Together to Support the Quality of Life in Our Community" Award.

Judging Criteria for School Bursaries
Interpretation/Presentation School/Community Spirit & Enthusiasm: 40%
Eye Appeal: 30%
Originality: 20%
Effective use of size: 10%
- Creativity and Originality/Costume and Equipment
- Degree of Difficulty in preparing entry
- Overall Appearance and Parade Conduct
- Audience Appeal/Entertainment
- Use of Color/Lights for "Light Up the Night Theme"
- Enthusiasm/Spirit
- Utilizing Characters: How characters are incorporated into the theme.
- Artistic Design: The balance, unity, use of space, originality and clarity of theme.
NOTE: All Bursary Monies must stay within the Barrhaven Boundaries
